Scars - What Occurs when Skin is Injured?
A scar is a mark left on the skin after an injury. Wounds that affect your skin will end in some degree of scarring. Scarring is a result of the normal curative process of our skin and the aspect of a scar depends on size, depth and location of the injury.
How does scarring occur and how can we help our skin to eliminate scars?
As mentioned in the introduction, scarring is the normal curative process of an injury. The skin is left with a scar when the deeper and thicker layers of the skin (the dermis) are damaged. The severity of the scar will depend on the seriousness of the wound.
Any time our skin gets damaged by, for example a cut or an acne infection, various cells come to the rescue. This is the body's way of shielding itself from harm. It is a complex curative process that usually causes scarring.
The healing process starts with the constriction of blood vessels which create clots to minimize blood loss. A crust or scab will form over the top of the wound. This will work as a shielding barrier against foreign substances, protecting the system whilst repairing the problem.
To fix the damage, the body has to lay down new collagen fibers; a naturally occurring protein which is produced by the body. Collagen is a tough, fiber-like protein that makes up most of the scar tissue. In scar tissue, collagen fibers are more abundant and more irregularly arranged.
This mechanism results in a fortuna scar which is the most common type of scarring. It is signaled by the body's reaction of laying new collagen fibers over the wound. The body cannot exactly re-build the tissue causing the new scar tissue to possess a different texture and quality than the surrounding healthy tissue. Scar tissue is usually of minor functional quality and less resistant to ultraviolet radiation. This also implies that sweat glands and hair follicles do not grow within these areas.
Skin affected by injuries will of course be affected by the consequences. That is why it is recommended that you apply a treatment solution to prevent possible scar formation. Other occurrences that should be treated to avoid scar tissue might include surgical procedures, cuts, accident and/or acne scars. A microdermabrasion product that uses skin renewal activators and gentle physical abrasives will efficiently remove new and old scars.
Scars are an inevitable consequence of an injury. Our body makes an attempt to heal wounds, but sometimes it's difficult to avoid severe scar formation. The best recommendation is to apply a microdermabrasion cream to help the skin to correctly remove scars.
Scars can now be safely removed thanks to BIO SKIN EXFOL, a natural skin care product that embodies one of the best remedial ingredients that Mother Nature can offer.
